Volunteer

Are you ready to join the network of compassion and caring volunteers?  There are many ways you can help.

Awareness Activities– Hold an educational event about LAM and The LAM Foundation in your home, school, church or other social outlet.  The LAM Foundation urgently seeks a treatment and ultimately a cure for LAM and the more people who know of the disease the more effective the work will be.  By holding an awareness event, YOU will be pivotal in helping The Foundation to grow into a larger network of people who can help move the mission forward.

Development or Fundraising – LAM Foundation fundraising activities secure the funds necessary to support our research and educational activities. Examples of fundraising and development opportunities include organizing special events (auctions, dinners, galas, walks, fitness or golf), organizing quick fundraisers (LAM-on-aid stands, garage sales, teas), joining The Foundation’s online fundraising efforts, soliciting major gifts, and recruiting other volunteers.

Communications or Public Relations -- To help ensure success, The Foundation’s activities, events and programs are promoted through these efforts. We can use your help in producing and distributing news releases, creating posters and flyers, and developing positive relationships with the media in your community.

Advocacy – Make calls, write letters and send e-mails to your legislators when there are critical issues that affect healthcare, research and rare diseases.  Your voice makes a difference.

LAMposium - Participate on the planning committee for the participant arm of the conference or the Breath of Hope Gala.  Participation in the planning can be done via conference call, so if you don’t live in Cincinnati, you can still help.  Help is also needed to sell raffle tickets and secure silent auction items.
Office assistance – Do you live in Greater Cincinnati?  Are you looking for a friendly place to share your talents?  Frequently, The Foundation has a need for extra hands to help facilitate some of the projects and activities in the office.
