Ask the Experts

The LAM Foundation Ask the Experts program allows you to ask a question and to receive an answer from a physician who is an expert in LAM. This program will also help you become familiar with and establish a relationship between you and your respective LAM Clinic. If you live outside of the United States you may ask a question to any LAM Clinic.

To make sure that our Experts aren't overwhelmed with questions, we encourage you to consider two other sources of information which may contain the answer you are looking for:

The LAM Handbook (a valuable resource containing answers to many questions commonly asked by women with LAM)
Searching previously asked questions on the Ask the Experts Forum.

Here are a few simple rules:

If you have a medical emergency, or if you are not sure whether or not you have a medical emergency, please dial 911. DO NOT USE Ask the Experts for medical emergenices.
If you have a question regarding your own personal health and well-being you (depending on the problem) should first seek appropriate medical help for a diagnosis and to be treated, if this is necessary.
LAM Clinics, Medical Professionals, if asked, will do their very best to answer questions regarding specific medical conditions, their specific symptoms, diagnostic testing, or general information regarding medical conditions.
It is neither appropriate nor ethical for LAM Clinic, Medical Professionals to make a diagnosis via the internet*. Without obtaining a complete medical history and performing an examination it would be impossible to create a meaningful or accurate diagnosis.
All questions and answers will be posted so that all of our readers can benefit. There are likely others out there with similar problems and your questions may be exactly what they want to know. Please choose your username taking this into consideration.

Once you're registered you can post questions to the Ask the Experts Forum or discuss other topics with LAM patients in the LAM Community Forum.
