Should I attend LAMposium DC or LA?plus

You are welcome to come to either conference or both!

The researchers and clinicians who are attending the International Research Conference on TSC and LAM will focus their attention to the symptoms, treatment and research of TSC and LAM. The LAM Foundation is hosting LAMposium DC, which will run very similar to years past. LAM experts will offer presentations covering updates on LAM research, managing symptoms of LAM, exercise, hormones and LAM and much more. Other highlights will include an integrative medicine workshop and an oxygen workshop. On Saturday, the TS Alliance is hosting a Regional TSC Conference alongside LAMposium DC. You can see a full agenda for LAMposium DC and learn more about the conference by clicking here. LAMposium DC will conclude on Saturday evening with the Breath of Hope Gala.

LAM researchers and clinicians who are attending the Patient Benefit Research Conference in Los Angeles, CA, in November will focus their attention and insight on finding new therapies or products that will benefit LAM patients in the shorter term: five years or less. LAMposium LA will also be similar to years past. National LAM experts will speak on new advancements in therapy and living well with LAM.

In addition, we will celebrate at the Breath of Hope Gala and raise funds to support the new ideas and proposals generated in the research sessions.

Where will the International Research Conference on TSC and LAM & LAMposium DC take place? plus

All festivities from Thursday evening through the Breath of Hope Gala on Saturday will take place at the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill. You are also welcome to join the Step Forward to Cure TSC National Walk which will take place on the National Mall on Sunday, June 25, 2017. More details to come.

What should I wear to LAMposium DC and the Breath of Hope Gala? plus

Casual and comfortable clothing is recommended. All presentations will take place within the hotel’s conference center so bring along a sweatshirt, sweater or a pashmina if you tend to get chilly. You may also want to bring along comfortable clothing for the yoga sessions, if you plan on attending. Don’t forget your dancing shoes and cocktail attire for the Breath of Hope Gala!

There isn’t a Friday night banquet this year? What should I do on Friday night? plus

Based on your feedback, we’ve decided to offer more unscheduled time for those attending the conference to reconnect with friends. Our hotel is located a few blocks from the nation’s Capitol and the National Mall, offering a wonderful chance to enjoy a lovely evening with friends and family outside of the conference. I need to order oxygen in Washington, DC. How should I handle it with the hotel?plus

For women on oxygen therapy, be sure to pre-order your oxygen through your standard oxygen supplier. Make certain they deliver your oxygen to the front desk of the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill with your name on the order.

Why are there so many questions on the registration form? plus

In order to receive financial grants for the conference, The National Institutes of Health National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute requires we ask questions on gender, ethnic origin, age and education. Otherwise additional questions within the registration process help us to plan a weekend that is comfortable for everyone.

I want to attend the conference but need financial assistance. Are there options available to help me? plus

If you are a woman with LAM and want to attend LAMposium DC but have limited finances, you can apply for a LAM Family Network (LFN) Travel Grant. How do I sign up for the Patient-Focused Drug Development (PFDD) Meeting?plus

The Patient-Focused Drug Development (PFDD) meeting will take place on Wednesday, June 21, from 8:30am to 4:30pm at the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill. The event is free and open to anyone who would like to attend in person. If you cannot attend in person, you can watch the meeting and participate by answering polling questions via a live webcast. How do I sign up to take part in LAM Day on Capitol Hill?plus

LAM Day on Capitol Hill will begin on Thursday, June 22 at 11:00 am at the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill with our advocacy training luncheon. Meetings on the Hill will be scheduled for Thursday afternoon and Friday morning.
