SEPTEMBER 22 – 25, 2016
NORTHERN KENTUCKY CONVENTION CENTER
The LAM Foundation and Rare Lung Diseases Consortium welcome you to attend the International Rare Lung Diseases Research Conference & LAMposium (RLDC•2016). This multi-faceted event aims to foster the advancement of rare lung disease research by enhancing communication between patients, clinicians and scientists.
Objectives of the RLDC•2016 are to:
- Update world leaders involved in the study and treatment of rare lung diseases on the most recent clinical advancements
- Review research developments in rare lung disease
- Attract new investigators to rare lung disease research
- Identify promising new research directions in rare lung diseases
- Facilitate ‘bench to bedside’ dialog between researchers, clinicians, FDA, NIH, pharma and patients
THE RLDC•2016 WILL OFFER THREE EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCES:
International Rare Lung Diseases Research Conference: One full day (Friday) of 20 minute “Rare Lung Disease Intensive” presentations offering current state of the art diagnostics and treatments for 15 rare lung diseases. On Saturday, workshops on pulmonary alveolar proteinosis, pulmonary Langerhans cell histiocytosis and genetic lung disease will focus on planning clinical trials.
19th Annual LAM Research Conference: Leading LAM investigators join early career scientists to discuss recent scientific progress, with a focus on lung matrix.
19th Annual LAMposium Patients, Family & Friends Conference: LAM and Rare Lung Disease patients, family and friends will attend a wide variety of educational sessions designed to inform and inspire. Topics range from disease and treatment fundamentals, research trial participation and oxygen therapy to exercise, fundraising and nutrition.
Many additional activities are planned including the Research Room, Scientific and Community Poster Reception, Rare Lung Diseases Clinic Director Congress, Rare Lung Disease Consortium Celebration Banquet and Breath of Hope Gala.
The following Rare Lung Diseases Consortium Partners will join us:
Thursday Evening Welcome Receptions & Conference Kickoff Presentation - Two concurrent welcome receptions, one for professionals and one for patients, friends & family will be held Thursday evening. Everyone is welcome to hear the Kickoff presentation by David Fajgenbaum, MD, MBA, Assistant Professor of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania and Executive Director, Castleman Disease Collaborative Network. Combined Breakfast & Lunch - Researchers, clinicians, patients, family and friends are all welcome to connect while sharing a meal together.
Scientific & Community Posters - Spend time reading about recent rare lung disease research and findings, LAM research and LAM Community events. All posters will be located in the Convention Center’s lobby.
Friday Evening Celebration Banquet –Celebrate the joint successes achieved by the collaboration of researchers and clinicians accomplished during a dinner in their honor. Frank McCormack, MD, Conference and Scientific Chair will host this dinner and welcome special guest speaker Frank Sasinowski, MS, MPH, Director at Hyman, Phelps and McNamara who will present on his experience with the FDA and drug development.
Breath of Hope Gala -Join us Saturday evening for an inspiring celebration! The Breath of Hope Gala is a fundraising tradition for the LAM Community and The LAM Foundation. The Gala is attended by women with LAM, families, friends and the scientific and medical LAM community.
Join us for dinner and dancing, a silent auction, interactive festivities, a raffle, the rose ceremony and the single largest annual fundraiser for LAM research, Fund A Cure. In 2015, Fund A Cure raised over $200,000 for LAM research in less than 30 minutes! 100% of all proceeds from Fund A Cure will be dedicated to LAM research.
Sponsor a table on behalf of your family and friends or your company at the Breath of Hope Gala! Table sponsorship includes dinner for 10 (at a savings of $250), recognition in the Gala program, and an inspiring evening at The LAM Foundation’s largest annual fundraiser.
