Evan Pontz will offer a basic overview of the Americans with Disabilities Act, with a particular focus on and discussion of the rights and responsibilities of an employee working with a disability and the reasonable accommodation process that can be needed. This session will cover how to protect your rights and ensure that an employer is not discriminating against an employee due to a LAM diagnosis or any of the health issues and limitations that may come along with the condition. He will also address how the ADA protects employees who are "associated" with an individual with a disability, such as a spouse, parent or child of someone with LAM, especially when these loved ones are involved in care and support of a LAM patient that may at times affect their ability to be at work or require time off from work.
