A Million Things to Do at the Million Dollar Bike Ride

A Million Things to Do at the Million Dollar Bike Ride

We are just a week away from the starting line at the Million Dollar Bike Ride. The LAM Easy Breathers Cycling Team is 42 riders strong and working hard to raise money for LAM research. If you live near Philadelphia or are in town, check out some of the activities you may want to attend. And of course you do not need to be in Philadelphia to take part in all of the festivities surrounding the event!

Volunteer Your Time and Get a Free T-Shirt - Friday, May 6 and Saturday May 7, 2016

The UPenn Orphan Disease Center (ODC) still needs volunteers for the evening of May 6 (to help with pre-registration from 4:00pm – 6:00pm) and all day during the ride on Saturday May 7th. If you would like to be a part of the action, register online here:

Cheer on the LAM Easy Breathers - Saturday, May 7

The LAM Easy Breathers Team is 42 riders strong! Eight members of our Easy Breathers Cycling team are riding the entire 73 mile course, Ray Chen, Regina Dougherty, John Garza, David Hsu, Craig Kephart, Joseph Kim, Ennio Magnarelli, and the Foundation’s Sue Sherman! Plant yourself along the course and cheer on our riders. It can get pretty lonely by the time you get to mile 61! If you are planning to be near the starting line at 7:00am to offer a pep talk to the team, contact Co-captain, Patricia Ortiz at She is planning to gather everyone together for a group photo.

Share Facebook and Twitter Posts - Friday, May 6 and Saturday, May 7

You do not need to be in Philadelphia to take part in all of the festivities surrounding the MDBR events. The LAM Foundation will be well represented at the MDBR. We are asking our Easy Breathers Cycling Team and our volunteers to post photos from all of the events on social media. Whenever you see a photo from the MDBR on Facebook or Twitter, share those photos and raise LAM awareness with your friends on Facebook and Twitter. Use the hashtags #CURELAM and #PennMedMDBR2016. The more "mentions" we have, the more people will hear about the event.

Support the Easy Breather Cycling Team Fundraisers - Today

If we reach our goal to raise $50,000 for LAM research, the UPenn Orphan Disease Center (ODC) will match our total dollar for dollar. With $100,000, two LAM researchers could each receive a grant to continue LAM research.

You can help! Click on The Easy Breathers Giving Page and show your support for LAM research by donating today!
