Add Your Personal Touch to this Year’s LAM Quilts
It's Quilt Time X 2! This year, Stacey Wheelus is creating two small quilts instead of one large quilt: a traditional quilt using fabric squares, and one with fabric lungs. “One for the ladies who love the quilts with squares, and one for fun, created using the theme of the lungs from the conference logo as our template. You will have to come to LAMposium to see them both!” says Stacey. You can be a part of either (or both!) of these quilts.
Every year there is a patchwork quilt on display at LAMposium. This quilt is made up of individual quilt squares created by women with LAM, family members or friends. The quilt squares are assembled together into one large patchwork quilt by Stacey Wheelus. This year, Stacey Wheelus is creating two small quilts instead of one large quilt: a traditional quilt using fabric squares, and one with fabric lungs. One quilt will be presented to a member of the LAM Community in appreciation of their dedication (decided by a vote), and the other will be up for auction by the highest bidder at our Breath of Hope Gala.
You can be a part of this amazing tradition by taking the following steps:
Traditional Quilt Using Fabric Squares:
Create a fabric square (8” x 8”) of your choice. Allow some clearance with your design; you will lose some of your square as she sews the squares together.
Fabric Lungs Quilt:
Create a fabric set of lungs by downloading THIS TEMPLATE and printing it out. Then cut out your paper lungs and pin them to the fabric. Once you've done that, you can cut out your fabric lungs. Please take your time.
On a piece of paper put your name, location, and date you were diagnosed with LAM. (This is not required, but it is nice to have a sign honor of those who participated.) Place your square or your set of lungs into an envelope and mail to:
