The Merion Cricket Club LAM Benefit Dinner

An evening to support Orphan Disease Research

Hosted by Andrea & Quint Slattery

Andrea Slattery, Board Chair of The LAM Foundation, along with her husband Quint, will host the 2nd Annual LAM Dinner and Silent Auction to benefit The LAM Foundation and orphan disease research. This event, in the beautiful setting of the Merion Cricket Club, is held in conjunction with the University of Pennsylvania Orphan Disease Center’s Million Dollar Bike Ride (MDBR). This year the dinner will celebrate The LAM Foundation’s groundbreaking success in the discovery and achievement of the first FDA approved treatment of the disease.

Lymphangioleiomyomatosis (LAM) is a progressive lung disease that strikes women in the prime of their lives, usually during their childbearing years. Characterized by an abnormal growth of smooth muscle cells, the disease causes cystic destruction of the lungs. The cause of LAM remains unknown, and although great strides have been made in researching the disease, no cure is yet available.

Funds raised by this event will be matched dollar for dollar up to $100,000 by two challenge grants: $50,000 from the Penn Medicine Orphan Disease Center, and $50,000 from an additional challenge grant secured by The LAM Foundation. 100% of funds raised will go to research. All gifts are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law. Thank you for supporting The LAM Foundation!
