The LAM Foundation Senior Clinical Director

The LAM Foundation (TLF) is seeking an experienced clinician to serve as the Senior Clinical Director, providing strategic guidance across clinical programs, research, and our global LAM Clinic Network.

This position will report to the Executive Director and work closely with The LAM Foundation staff, the TLF Clinic Advisory Board, in addition to internal and external constituents. The Senior Clinical Director will ensure the LAM Clinic Network continues to build strong relationships and provides a clear definition of clinic participation and inclusion. The Senior Clinic Director will facilitate the assessment and planning process in alignment with The LAM Foundation strategic plan and commitment to comprehensive care.

This is a part-time advisory role (~4 hours/week) ideal for an established physician with experience in pulmonary or rare disease who wants to make a meaningful impact.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical expertise for the Executive Director on TLF’s clinical goals, ensuring that they align with TLF mission and vision.
  • Participate in strategic planning by clinical- and clinical research-oriented committees.
  • Present to TLF Board of Directors at each meeting on promising developments relevant to TLF Clinical programs. Participate as a non-voting member in the Grant Study Section review of TLF grant proposals.
  • Monitor progress of clinical programs and funded clinical research projects in collaboration with the Executive Director.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Patient Services and the TLF Scientific Director to evaluate any out of cycle clinically relevant proposals.
  • Promote TLF and LAM globally to facilitate awareness and collaboration.
  • Establish and maintain collaborations and partnerships with research institutions, universities, and relevant organizations to enhance TLF’s clinical reach.
  • Work closely with the Executive Director and the Director of Development and Communications to highlight TLF’s clinical program accomplishments to donors, stakeholders and broader clinical community.
  • In conjunction with the TLF Clinical Advisory Board and TLF staff:
    • Review and revise LAM Clinic accreditation process and develop quality assessment tools to be used in evaluating and reaccrediting established centers.
    • Oversee development and revision of physician- and patient-focused website educational content, patient facing articles, and external messaging related to clinical care and advancements in LAM.
    • Lead assessment of the US and International LAM Clinic Networks to ensure reasonable access for all patients. Enhance the onboarding experience and mentoring of newly appointed LAM Clinic directors.
    • Lead the quarterly LAM Clinic Directors virtual meetings and the LAM Clinic Directors meeting at the annual ATS Conference in conjunction with the Clinical Advisory Board
    • Serve in an advisory capacity for conference planning, webinars, and meetings as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • MD with relevant clinical experience (LAM, pulmonary, or rare disease preferred)
  • Proven clinical or academic leadership
  • Strong communicator with collaborative mindset
  • Positive, professional team player, able to manage project time and resource needs
  • A remote role with opportunity to attend in-person meetings and conferences

Details:

  •  ~4 hours/week
  • $12,000 annual stipend
  • 3-year term with six-month initial assessment
